The primary goal and purpose of Lay Ministries is to help everyone discover and develop their God-given gifts and talents, empowering them for a faithful and joyful ministry. To build the body of Christ by preparing, connecting and equipping lay people, fulfilling the mandate, "Every Member a Minister."
We believe God has given every believer a unique SHAPE (spiritual gifts, heart, abilities, personality, experiences) that can be used for ministry. It is our goal to help everyone discover their unique SHAPE thereby giving them the opportunity to serve with confidence.
"For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Eph. 2:10
"Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. And in the church God has appointed first of al apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, also those having gifts of healing, those able to help others, those with gifts of administration, and those speaking in different kinds of tongues." I Cor. 12:27 & 28
There may be many reasons you might question why God would choose to use you in ministry. Many of us are too concerned about our "faults." If this sounds like you, you're in good company:
| Moses Stuttered |
Jacob was a liar |
| Timothy had stomach problems |
David had an affair |
| John was self-righteous |
Abraham was too old |
| Naomi was a poor widow |
Paul was a murderer |
| Martha was a worrywart |
Jonah ran from God |
| Jeremiah was depressed and suicidal |
Gideon doubted, and so did Thomas |
God doesn't look at our faults, finances, or failings. he ony looks at our willingness. If you are willing today to be used by God in the lives of your church and community....get ready. You're just the right candidate for a job God has in mind!
