Introducing WWCC

WW Community COnnections, Inc. (WWCC) is a faith-based, not-for-profit [501(c)3] community development organization intended to meet the humanitarian, educational and physical needs of people in southeastern Michigan.  Motivated by the love of God, the intent of WW Community Connections, Inc. is to promote the development and well-being of individuals, families and the communities of southeastern Michigan by partnering together as loving neighbors.

WWCC is governed by a Board of DIREctors consisting of local professionals and concerned community residents.  The organization is affiliated with Warren Woods Church of the Nazarene which has served the community since 1964.  WWCC is funded primarily through foundation and corporate sponsorship, government grants and individual contributors.  WWCC also accepts donated goods and services and gifts-in-kind.

Identifying Community Needs

WWCC has identified several areas of immediate need that are being addressed, but WWCC is not limiting its efforts to only these areas of need and is willing to expand its efforts into additional areas as necessary.

WWCC is currently focusing its efforts in these areas; Angel Food Ministries, a grocery subsidy program targeting low income families; Mentoring for Families for low income families; and partnering with Sportsmen Against Hunger to provide food for Solid Ground homeless shelter.

Angel Food Ministries (Click for WWCC's AFM page)

Angel Food Ministries (AFM) is a once a month opportunity to purchase food at a greatly reduced price. A unit of food is designed to provide a balanced diet for a senior citizen for a month or a family of four for a week. There is no limit to the units of food purchased each month. An order is placed approximately two weeks before delivery with additional meat items available for purchase, again at a reduced price. Purchase can be made by cash, money order or EBT (Bridge) card. No financial background check is required to participate. Check the wwcconnections.org website for current monthly menus and ordering information.

Sportsmen Against Hunger

We are currently participating with Sportsmen Against Hunger to provide meat and other food products to Solid Ground Homeless Shelter in Macomb County. Our goal is to provide 5,000 pounds of meat annually for the shelter. We are interested in locating landowners that have out-of-season crop damage permits or in-season block permits to harvest deer for this project.

Strategic Partnerships
Finally, it is WWCC's vision to develop strategic partnerships with like-minded organizations to meet our stated objectives and to enhance our goals.

Stewardship of Financial Resources

WWCC is guided by the principle of good stewardship of all donated funds and goods.  Good stewardship includes ensuring the proper resources are available to the appropriate recipients.  It is our goal to maintain low overhead costs in order to maximize the amounts of aid provided to specific programs.
