What is a Multi-Site Church?
One church meeting in multiple locations. For us, we now have a Chesterfield campus in Chesterfield, Michigan. Formerly known as the Anchor Bay Church of the Nazarene, our Chesterfield campus is only 20 miles from our present location in Warren.
Multi-site churches share the same vision, budget and leadership across all of their locations.

Why Multi-Site?

For over 40 years now, Warren Woods has been committed to reaching people for Jesus Christ and to making fully devoted disciples.

Warren Wood's vision is  to impact our community and beyond with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ.

Your local and district leadership truly believes that God has opened the doors to this new adventure and that we honor God by being obedient to his direction for Warren Woods. Remember, our first core value at Warren Woods is:

We value people and their relationship with God.

This is the key to understanding the multi-site approach.  Fulfilling the Great Commission drives us to do what we do for God.

Our plan is to replicate Warren Woods in other communities as God directs. As we assess the opportunities God brings our way, our desire is to have other campuses in our regional area. Our goal for each campus is that a person could attend anyone of our churches and get the Warren Woods 'DNA' - those non-negotiables that define our vision and core values.

Multi-Campus Ministry Advantages...

Increased Outreach:

When churches begin multiple locations, they dramatically increase their outreach. When Leadership Network surveyed one thousand multi-site churches, the number one reason churches added new sites was "for evangelistic purposes."

Involved Followers:

When you reproduce sites, you involve more people in ministry and many people re-engage because church is now closer to their neighborhood. Researchers have found that if a campus is more than 20 minutes away from their home, people will drive to join the weekly worship service, but their ability to serve and to invite friends is diminished.

Improved Quality:

Each time we launch a site, we rethink how we do ministry which improves quality. Because certain overhead and personnel expenses are shared, costs drop. Also, centers of excellence emerge. For example, one campus becomes excellent at Student Ministry or Worship Ministry and then transfers that learning to the other campuses. Campuses can come together to share ideas and encourage one another.

Improved Leaders:

Multi-campus ministry increases leadership development. The most successful multi-site leaders have been home grown. Developing staff from within the congregation works well.

You may even choose to attend the Chesterfield campus and lend a hand or your special gifts and talents.

Questions & Answers

Why are we doing this?

This fits into our vision at Warren Woods—To grow to 2010 by 2010 and to impact our  As a church, Warren Woods desires to impact our impact our community and beyond with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ.

Our discussion with the EMD and Anchor Bay leadership began last December and has involved-much prayer and interaction. The multi-site effort will allow us to join forces with the wonderful people of our Chesterfield campus in reaching the Chesterfield Township/New Baltimore area for Christ. As leadership, we know that this church is God's and we want to serve Him. Let's together be dependent on God in prayer and express our confidence in Him by boldly acting in faith.

What leadership and ministries will be at this campus?

When financially appropriate, we will have a campus pastor. Until then, staff and volunteers will provide programming such as children's ministries, student ministries, small group ministries and celebrative worship.

For now, our present staff members will provide leadership during the week including hospital visitation, ministry coordination, follow-up of visitors, etc. Other ministries will begin depending on the specific needs of the campus.

Who will preach each Sunday?

We will have a preaching team from our own staff that will preach the same messages at all campuses. In the future, the campus pastor will teach at the Chesterfield campus along with a rotating team from Warren Woods.

How will they be governed?

The Warren Woods Board of Directors and Staff will oversee the Warren and the Chesterfield campuses. Both campuses will use Warren Woods policy’s and procedures, all mission/vision/core value statements, and the Manual for the Church of the Nazarene, as its governing documents. All current Anchor Bay members will be given the opportunity to automatically become members of Warren Woods.

What are the financial liabilities and assets?

The Chesterfield campus is expected to be a self-supporting campus as soon as possible. Again, we will have the support of the EMD should the need arise. Over the next five years, all assets presently owned by Anchor Bay will be given to Warren Woods.  The building is in excellent condition and sits on acres of land.

What will be our first year focus at the Chesterfield Campus?

  • Create an evangelistically charged and missional campus - every member working toward bringing the life changing message of Jesus Christ to the New Baltimore/Chesterfield Township area.
  • Worship experiences that are excellent, relevant, and celebrative
  • Develop nurturing small groups that will be the lifeblood of the church in training new leaders and reaching those who don't know Christ yet.
  • Equip and train leaders to do the work of ministry.
  • Ignite Family and Children’s/Element student ministries.
